| "The Accuser of Our Brethren" |
|
Rev 12:10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
Every day for years while taking a morning “cleansing shower”, I would inevitably end up praying a woe-is-me, please help me, dear God “forgive me a sinner” type prayer. I look back now and think what a depressing it’s-all-about-me way to start the day. In fact, what a depressing way to live… always feeling some form of guilt and/or unworthiness… and then vowing to “do” better (keeping the law) in order to draw closer to God.
It reminds me of a former co-worker of mine who was standing gazing out the window one day, when I approached him and said “John, what’s going on? Looks like you’re deep in thought somewhere.” He turned and said, “You know something, Lance? If other people treated me the way I treat myself, I think I’d kill ‘em.” Yep, good old John was being accused. I mean, he had the whips and the chains out and was giving himself quite a flogging.
The good news is that when the holy (un-blamable) spirit of truth comes, you will be set free and you won’t accuse yourself anymore… because the accuser will be cast down!

"Transformed by the Renewing of Your Mind"
Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
The world teaches “what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God” by the precepts of men (Isa 29:13). But that is not what those who hear His voice (will) go by anymore. They no longer conform to the teachings and traditions of men, but are rather transformed (metamorphoo, transfigured) by the "renewing" of their minds from the Spirit of God (God is love) who dwells in their heart. "Conforming" is done from the outside (world, mind) in, while "transforming" in done from the inside (heaven, heart) out. |
